Only worry if you owe them. Even if you don’t have the money, file as soon as possible to avoid penalties. The longer you take, the more it costs you. Don’t delay…

If they owe you, don’t worry at all - except that Uncle Sam has your money. There are no penalties, and they may pay you some interest.
